I've now finished the box set and there is a certain amount of the law of diminishing returns as Clint Eastwood (and Harry Callahan) gets a little older -- there is 17 years between Dirty Harry and The Dead Pool but the latter few are still more than watchable films without being classics like Dirty Harry.

Exactly, if you gave me a choice between watching these five and watching the Transporter and Crank movies, Clint Eastwood would beat Jason Statham every time.

I don't think Clint Eastwood ever made a film in which he removed his shirt and wrestled another man in a pool of oil though!

As Homer says in the All Singing, All Dancing episode of The Simpsons:
Quote:
Ooh, why did they have to do ruin a perfectly serviceable wagon story with all that fruity singing?

True, but has Jason Stratham ever appeared in a movie in which he swings from a chandelier to impress his woman because he has seen his pet ape do it?

Not yet, but he's still quite young and has a long career ahead of him!

Clint has twice re-invented two genre's, The cop Thriller and The Western, Statham hasn't done this yet, but as Nos says he's young and got quite a career ahead of him.
