But let's not tarnish the great man's thread with trash....

Watched Gran Torino again the other night.
Classic.

Wonder if Clint will ever get in front of the camera again....

I don't believe he was a ghost in that one either. Just a pissed off guy shot full of holes by Stockburn.

Now, High Plains Drifter on the other hand.....defintely the Marshal returned to exact vengeance (even though he was originally supposed to be the brother of the Marshal).

Agreed, he's definitely a vengeful spirit in High Plains Drifter. The way he disappears as he rides off at the end confirms this i thought.

Agreed.
He's seen as an avenging angel by the good God fearin' prospectors.
But really,he's the Paul Kersey of the west in the old days....

High Plains Drifter is one of the best films ever. I love every second of it. The barber scene and the scene in the barn are both brilliant.

High Plains Drifter (1973, CE)

A figure emerges from the desert haze .... with one thing on his mind.
Tidyman's script just about makes it to the end without drawing breath
Before Oldboy ... this was it for me where revenge films were concerned.
The sweat and the dust, the creaking planks and the ST which is not from the Williams school topped by Clint's grizzled boat all combine into a rollicking ride.
