So do i and i've seen both films umpteen times.

Reynolds' just seems so at home behind the wheel in both the above classics.

I never thought much of SATB 2 but i love the third entry despite Burt's brief cameo at the climax.

TCR 2 isn't all that bad either imo.

Reynolds was good in Hustle too though it wasn't one of Aldrich's best.

One thing I would love to see some day is the original version of Smokey & The Bandit part 3.It was fiilmed as Smokey Is The Bandit and Featured Jackie Gleason playing Beauford T. Justice and The Bandit but they re-filmed most of it when they brought in Jerry Reed as Snowman/Bandit.It would be interesting to see.

Burt was great when he turned up in My Name Is Earl too. I think sometimes the power of the personality of "Burt" overshadows what a varied and fine actor he can be.

Sharky's Machine is long overdue for an uncut UK release.

An interesting and intriguing concept to be sure. Personally, i love the third SATB entry as it stands and make no mistake, Gleason dominates this film from start to finish. The opening credits montage alone has me creased everytime, especially the OAP exercise class moment!

only got DELIVERENCE w/Reynolds in and hes good the excellent film by Boorman
but the CANNONBALL RUN and SMOKEY films were shit
I saw THE MEAN MACHINE and HUSTLE and he was good in them
but hes not in the same league of course as Schwarzenegger as an action star!

The underrated MALONE is now out in Germany from Ascot Elite.Uncut as it's the FSK 18 release and it will have the double ear-clap cut from the UK video by the BBFC intact.

Malone is such a badass film, you got Reynolds, Cliff Robertson and Hershal off of the Walking dead, a giant barn explosion and Reynold's blowing holes into people and not a hair is out of place. It's been on MGM-HD a few times. Will definitely get the blu as the only other release is the MGM ON Demand release that's about $25.
