Burt Reynolds

Old Burt Reynolds made some great action films in his day too:-
Hooper
Sharky's Machine (One of my favourites)
Malone (1987) Where's the dvd ?.Would be uncut too now restoring an earclap (In the BBC 1 screenings !)
Smokey & The Bandit (Great fun the first two)
Deliverance (Boy those Mountain Men still give me the creeps !)
Shamus
Gator
White Lightning
Navajo Joe (Enjoyable Spaghetti western)
100 Rifles (great Jerry Goldsmith score reused for The Last Hard Men)

Deliverance and Sharky's Machine (with its awesome soundtrack) are two of my Reynolds favourites. I also still like the original Mean Machine (The Longest Yard).

It's sad that Reynolds was reduced to advertising specs.
His turn in BOOGIE NIGHTS was also superb.

I sat through a diabolical mess of his called Stroker Ace once. One of the worst films I've ever seen. :ack:

Hooper is great, made me want to be a stuntman when i was little (that and The Fall Guy TV series!)

The man has great charisma and is larger than life on screen. Deliverance is obviously a classic but I like him best in his roles as 'Smokey and the Bandit' and 'Cannonball Run' I think.

He was made for the 80's!
