I agree.

However Pachinko if you don't like the recent Rocky or Rambo films then i really wouldn't bother.

A Good Day to Die Hard is terrible anyway.

I recently rewatched the original three films, loved them
but wasn't sure about the Live Free and Good Day..

I saw the newer Rambo and Rocky films and they were crap lol so was just wondering if I should bother with the
fourth and fifth DH films
I don't like the fourth film. Boring villain, the stakes are preposterous, McClane is more athletic than he is in the first film (despite his advancing years), and the action is so overblown that all suspense is removed. I know action films have to go over the top but you're meant to build up to the lunacy - not begin the film with it. Also, the film is either blue-grey or burnt orange.

The fifth film is one of the worst films to ever get a cinema release. Nothing in the film is good. Even the sound effects are off-putting and odd.

I usually play Max Payne 3 and pretend it's the real Die Hard 4. Just omit / change a few things and Max Payne is how you would expect McClane to turn out based on Die Hard with a Vengeance.

If you like Max Payne, you should play Die Hard Trilogy, 3 in 1 game.. think there's a ROM available somewhere on the net..
Released for the PS and Saturn back in the day.. quite a old game, but it's a classic

Still have my PS1 copy. Every Christmas I break out the PS1, the game and the lightgun. It's as much of a tradition as watching the films are.

The original Death Wish from 1974 is excellent.

The reason I dislike the Original and it's sequels are:

You start off liking/rooting him for what has happened to his daughter and wife and then you are manipulated into taking his side and yet he is just as bad as those who commit those crimes and then starts to enjoy it and becomes psychotic.

The police do not do a thing and even to the point they let him go (on a killing spree ) without charges against him and why? simply because he kept the crime rate down.

"the end justifies the means", meaning that if a goal is morally important enough, any method of achieving it is acceptable.

In the case of the original Bronson film I see not the problem.

I agree with Mr Harker. Starting with Death Wish II, the series definitely at least partly exploits both the genre and the basic storyline, but the original 1974 Death Wish doesn't condone vigilantism. The fact that it also does not overtly hammer "Don't take the law into your own hands!" into the viewer's head doesn't make it a manipulative film. The fact that the viewer can understand Kersey's actions and that the film is intense enough to make the viewer feel for Kersey doesn't mean that he is tricked into believing that Kersey's actions are right.
