I've only ever seen Shogun Assassin, which is great fun.I've never seen any of the Lone Wolf & Cub series so if this boxset proves to be uncut, I may well invest my hard earned in a copy.

If the previous snips are indeed waived and reinstated then Eureka will be getting my hard earned cash too! Money well spent imo if all the specifics mentioned at the start of this thread are present and correct.

This whole strand of Japanese Cinema represents some of my favourite movies.

I won't be buying the box set as I picked up the Artsmagic remasters for £2 each in Cardiff Market, but I'd say to anyone who hasn't had the chance to see this epic series that they pick them up on sight. More than a franchise, the six films are more like episodes in an epic "Lord of the Rings" style film cycle.

This is due to their origin in comic books, where the characters and plot line had been long established, but it means you can sit down in the early afternoon and let the films take you away to a surreal, feudal Japan and it's a world you can lose yourself in as the light fades outside and you lose track of time.

Of all the genre movies I love, these, and the Lady Snowblood, Hanzo the Razor and Female Prisoner Scorpion movies, are my favourite films of all time (Groundhog Day excepted of course...), because they combine artistry and trash in perfect balance. I love sleazy, low rent nasties, but the Lone Wolf and Cub movies are a cut above, classy, high quality 70s Adventure Cinema with a violent streak a mile wide.

I pre-ordered my copy of Eureka's LWAC collection yesterday and await this release with baited breath!
At last a proper British version of SA but I'll still hang on to my R4 and earlier U.K. DVD box sets anyway just for keepsake purposes i suppose and i like the packaging on the Australian edition.

Has anyone been able to find out what the individual art will look like for the films.I'm itching to get a look at them.If they're anything like the style of the Hanzo The Razor set,we're in for something special

I agree it's high time the individual film artwork came our way.
We've all seen the box set cover (and very nice it is too!) and i'm hoping the single sleeves will be just as attractive.

Well they said they covers would use the original japanese poster designs so i'm really looking forward to getting a peek

Still no mention on the BBFC's site about this though they have been a little slow updating of late. I'm pretty sure they've been passed uncut though.
