Really love the old Jackie Chan films, my personal fave being Dragon Fist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Fist This one has a cool story (the usual avenging of his master), brilliantly bad dubbing some and some great action. I have so much respect for a man who does his own stunts and won't use any camera trickery to do the dangerous stuff, even if it means he ends up in hospital alot of the time during filming. Definately a true master! |

....and it also co-starred Kristine DeBell playboy model and star of Hard core porn musical Alice in Wonderland,I wonder if Jackie realised he was kissing the lips of a porn actress?

I've been checking some of Jackie`s old school stuff he did with Lo Wei. I remember reading that these films were dull & not worth going out of your way for but there are some real gems if you like classic kung fu without all the comedy. I've really enjoyed Dragon Fist, Snake & Crane Arts of Shaolin & To Kill With Intrigue.Next up Magnificent Bodyguards |

I dug out my Kung Fu Legends DVD of drunken master last night to rewatch it. I had forgotten just how fantastic it is. There are loads of spectacular fights and the interection between Wong Fei Hung and Beggar Su is great with some classic trainging scenes. The end fight between Jackie Chan and the man paid to kill is father is a real high point. Its just a shame it took me so long to watch it again. |

Talking of those early Lo Wei films, I have a lot of time for Shaolin Wooden Men and Fearless Hyena. For strange appeal try and track down Killer Meteor where Jackie plays a rare bad guy to Jimmy Wang Yu's hero.

Yay! HMV have an exclusive steelbook of The Karate Kid coming out in November. If you haven't seen it yet then you must as Jackie is just superb in it. As expected. Karate Kid: Combi Pack: Hmv Exclusive: Steelbook (2010): BLU-RAY: hmv.com

Personally I think it is Jackie's best dramatic performance to date. The scene where he talks about his wife and child's death is heartbreaking stuff. I prefer this remake to the original.
