So many quotable lines in the film.

watched HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE MARLBORO MAN this afternoon, absolutely great fun with a normal looking Mickey Rourke and bad ass Don Johnson, it's not the best film ever made but was pretty action packed and entertaining.

"It's better to be dead and cool, than alive and uncool". Love this film.

just had a Van Damme-athon and watched Hard Target and Wake Of Death.

HARD TARGET: John Woo's western debut is an okay affair, i understand he had difficulties from the studio while making the film, there are some obvious Woo trade marks such as the doves and the two handed gunplay, the story has been done to death so nothing really original plot wise. Van Damme is pretty good but has the worst mullet ever and Lance Henriksen as usuall kicks major buttski. Overall the film is entertaining and a great way to pass 95 minutes.

WAKE OF DEATH: never really got into the whole DTV movies, but picked this up cheap. The film is actually pretty good. The main Selling point was the fact that my fave asian actor is in it, Simon Yam. The plot is your standard revenge story involving corrupt cops and evil triads, but the film allowed Jean-Claude to do a bit of acting. the action is handled well and there's not a CGI shot in sight. my only problem with the film is it under used Simon Yam a lot like Marc Dacascos was under used in the awful Jet Li film Cradle To The Grave.

As a precursor to JCVD, Van Damme gives probabaly his second best performance of his career in Wake Of Death. It's probably the best of his DTV features.

And of course, the dvd of Hard Target in the UK and other countries, is the unrated version, featuring over 3 mins of footage missing from the U.S. R-rated disc. I have John Woo's Director's Cut on a disc somewhere, which includes amongst other things, the full version of Poe having his ear cut off with a pair of scissors.

Which version of Until Death have you seen? The US version has a happy ending. Can't remember if there are any more differences.
