I tend to associate Shaw Bros. with martial arts movies and i wasn't aware the studio dabbled in other genres. Although i believe fantasy and horror were also part of Run Run and Runme's output.

There's no way i'd go anywhere near a Shaw Bros. musical though. It's just too unusual a concept for me to comprehend!

They have about 1000 films in thier library. It was all the Martial Arts films that first made me aware of the SB Studios but then after seeing some of theother genre entries that made me a fan

I own about 300 Shaws on DVD, mostly martial arts & a few horrors.
Those were the days when Celestial were knocking out 4 or more new releases every month & you could get them for a fiver each thanks to the much used CDWow referer link

Lately I`ve just been picking up the US releases of films which have the added attraction of the classic dub leaving me with doubles of quite a few films.

I sat down to watch Return of the One-Armed Swordsman with the dub the other day but had switch to Mandarin after about a minute. It sucks when the familiar dubbers aren`t used but instead a bunch of guys who sound like they are reading in an English class.
Great film though

Watched THE GENERATION GAP this afternoon, Enjoyable enough drama from chang Cheh but I feel it could have been 15-20 minutes shorter as the first hour plus did go on for a bit. The last half hour however is full of row!

Still pricey, there's a lot more to making a machine into a multi region than there is with dvd, a lot of work goes into them.
