One of my all-time fave comedy classics this film and that priceless pairing of Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. is hilarious!

Dom Deluise:"Nice car, Father."

Dean Martin:"Thank you, A**hole!"

That scene where Burt and Dom speed away in their Ambulance with do-gooder George Furth dragged along behind creases me everytime. "Hit it!"!

Also that cacaphony of ominous organ music whenever we see Jack Elam's dodgy doctor splits the sides alright!

You've also gotta love Davis Jr's dastardly laugh after he deflates the tyre on Burt and Dom's meat wagon.

"Why don't you take that piece of s*** back to the junkyard?! Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

A great film indeed, and one that always reminds me of childhood. It is sad to think that so many of those actors are now deceased.

I forgot to put it on my list. Funny thing. Jackie Chan is playing Japanese!

Used to watch The Cannonball Run constantly when I was younger. Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr are fantastic as Jamie Blake and Fenderbaum ( The chocolate monk! ) and of course the film features probably the most famous and dare I say, funniest? outtakes ever captured of film. The abuse Dom DeLuise was put through by Burt Reynolds, slapping him at every mistake is quite sad, yet at the same time, quite funny. You can tell they must've been really close for Dom to put up with it.
