Default Golden Harvest Films

We've got a Shaw brothers thread, I thought it would be a good idea to have one for Golden Harvest too.

Watched THE TOURNAMENT (1974) today, I quite enjoyed this, it took 35 minutes or so to kick in but when it did the fights came thick and fast.

Well worth a watch, great cast too. Angela Mao, Carter Huang, Sammo Hung, Whang In Sik and a load of other recognisable faces including a very young looking Yuen Biao.

Watched THREE AGAINST THE WORLD starring Andy Lau who plays the role of "Charlie Chan" who's job it is to protect a rare religious antique which obviously isn't easy as all and sundry try to get their hands on it, including Rosamund Kwan who looks stunning in this enjoyable enough production from 1988 which contained quite a lot more action than i thought it would.

I have a lot more Golden Harvest films than Shaw Brothers. My interest lay there when I first got into HK films due to Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Angela Mao and Lam Ching Ying movies. I wouldn't even try to list them as my collection is way too disorganised at the moment.

Like most people it was through GH that I got into HK films in the late 70s. Favourites apart from the Lee films inc

WHEN TAEKWONDO STRIKES
BEACH OF THE WAR GODS
BROAKEN OATH
HAPKIDO

Loads more , but would love to see a re mastered series of Mao ying DVD's.

Quite a few of Angela Mao's films have had the "Legendary Collection" treatment. Try www.dddhouse.com for the full list and pretty good prices. A lot of the films come out on VCD first. (I hate those things!) If demand is high enough a DVD will often follow.

If I can make some time at the wekend I will try and list my GH releases. It will be interesting (For me anyway.) to see how many I've collected. I've never bothered counting them as such.

Too true, they have recently been making some dvd's of the ones that were vcd only so hopefully they are doing it to all of the vcd releases.....hopefully.
