Check out "Shinjuko Incident", another great acting job from Jackie.
For me, superior to "New Police Story" in terms of performance.

I thought it was absolutely brilliant. A tight, gripping storyline, some superb action set pieces and possibly the best acting performance i have seen Jackie Chan give. His portrayal of Chan, the tormented senior inspector who loses his entire team to a criminal gang in a terrible way, was entirely convincing and had me glued to the screen.

The film benefited from avoiding the usual traits of daft comedy, and allowed itself to keep you on the edge of your seat by moving at a swift pace.

Anyone who has not seen it should really seek it out.
Couldn't have put it better myself. A highly recommended and enjoyable effort well worth repeated screenings.

Imo slinky villainess Nina Li Chi is more than a little sexy in this movie. Especially the scene where she tries to tempt the title character.

I must admit when the time comes for yours truly to watch TSI i'll be viewing the film from a dramatic, character-driven standpoint much more than an action one.

Recently re-watched Swordsman (1990) and this is a horribly underrated film imho.
I really get annoyed when I read reviews that say it can be avoided or skipped when watching the "trilogy".

Recently watched Flying Dagger (1993).
The Mei Ah edition has decent (not great) pic quality but the subs are not very good (even for HK standards).
Does anyone have the UK dvd and are the subs better on that one?

Last night I watched Beast Cops (HKL) and really enjoyed it. The way the police were seen as almost just another gang in a gang ridden area was really interesting and the final show down with a s**t load of people with guns and machetes was as brutal and exciting as the blurb on the box made it out to be.

I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of dark, gritty, cop, action, dramas.
