From the "films seen" thread:

Destroy All Monsters - always one of my favourite 60's Godzilla flicks, to see this on Tokyo Shock's wonderful Blu-Ray was glorious. Excellent "mod" futuristic fashions and sets, and a some top SF action ("Fire the maser cannons!"). And monsters. Loads of monsters. Wonderful.

The Return Of Godzilla - by 1984 things were different at Toho. This reboot of the series is dark and bleak, in a Cold War setting with some discussion of nuclear weapons issues that you may find harrowing if you lived through the 70s and 80s (the Russians and Americans trying to get the Japanese to agree to allow a nuclear strike on Godzilla on Japanese soil, I found genuinely moving - evoking the spectres of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and with some very dignified acting from Keiju Kobayashi as the Japanese Prime Minister). Comic relief is very light on the ground, and even the single "clown" character ends up making a deep impassioned speech. It's a powerful entry to the series and is (intentionally) very reminiscent of the original Godzilla from 1954. Very highly recommended. (R3 Universe release - good quality, non-anamorphic.)

ULTRAMAN REVIEW - This is the first episode of the 60's Japanese sci fi series Ultraman.
The Science Patrol is a high-tech unit designed to protect the Earth from threats from space. A mysterious red and a blue glowing ball enter our atmosphere, the blue ball lands in a lake, witnessed by a bunch of campers, the red one accidentally collides with the VTOL craft of SP member Hayata. He is merged with the mysterious alien from Nebula M713 and in times of danger becomes Ultraman.

A monster called Bemula appears from the lake and it is up to our hero to save the day, with his Ultra-powers.
The FX from the Tsubaraya production team (the man behind Godzilla), look a little dated, but this just adds to the charm of the show.

Audio is in Japanese with removable English subs or English dubbed. The colours are slightly faded, but overall it looks pretty good for a 60's low budget show.

Definitely. Each disc has the original Japanese and English dubbed versions of the film, there are some good bonus features too particularly the commentaries on both versions of the first film.

Yeah, the transfers are perhaps not as amazing as you'd hope, but it's all beautifully presented with nice options and covers some decent early films.

For the money you can find it at now, it's an essential buy.
