Default Godzilla and other Daikaiju

As there seems to be a few G-fans here, I have not seen a thread devoted to Japan's favourite Urban renewal developer.
Post your pics, thoughts, reviews, whatever here.

Here's a list of the big G's films. I haven't included appearances in other films or TV shows.

Godzilla Raids Again [1955]
King Kong vs. Godzilla [1962]
Mothra vs. Godzilla [1964]

Destroy All Monsters [1968]
All Monsters Attack (Godzilla's Revenge) [1969]

Godzilla vs. Gigan [1972]
Godzilla vs. Megalon [1973]
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla [1974]

Godzilla vs. Megaguirus [2000]
Godzilla, Mothra & King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack [2001]

Urban renewal developer....nice one. i have fond memories of the 2:35 prints that Channel 4 used to show, sadly dont have enough of these in the house, id put up a rather funny Stewart Lee spoof, but since you really have to watch the whole episode to "get the joke", il get me coat ahem.

Ok slate me if you like, but I really like the Mothra song, especially the version in Tokyo S.O.S..

Here,s the lyrics in Japanese and English. Please note there are variences in the lyrics in the films.

Mothra Song -

Japanese

Mosura ya Mosura
dongan kasakuyan indoo muu
rosuto uiraadoa, hanba hanbamuyan
randa banunradan tounjukanraa
kasaku yaanmu
Mosura ya Mosura
yasashisasae waure
arehateta
hito no kokoro inorinagara
utai, ai no uta

English Translation

Mothra oh Mothra
Hear our call for you to save us
over time, over sealike a wave you come our guardian angel
Mothra oh Mothra
the people have forgotten kindness
their spirits fall to ruin
we shall pray for the people as we sing

Are you suggesting that there might be people who don't like the Mothra song?

Cool

Seen most if not all of the big G's movies, SCALA cinema even had an all night GODZILLATHON back in the mid 80s. What really impresses is TOHO often reinvent their own history to tell a good yarn, MECHA G for example, built by spacemen in the 70s but constructed from GODZILLA'S bones/DNA by humans in todays times. Also fun to see how big G once towered over Tokyo, but is now dwarfed by the buildings of modern Japan. My personal fave is GODZILLA VS DESTOROYAH (although referring to mini G as 'baby' may raise a chuckle, gotta love that 'Miki Saegusa')

Does anyone else remember BBC 2's Godzilla/Monster night from about 14 years ago? It's a shame they'd never consider doing something like this nowadays:

Here's another from Japan called Attack of the Super Monsters:

Apparently it was originally a Japanese TV series that was edited together int this movie form when it was released overseas. I've never seen the full thing but it looks entertaining and it's got to be the only Kaiju film to blend suitmation with traditional 2D animation
