Default Arrow Needs You!

Some of you will remember way back last year when Shameless launched in Zavvi stores we asked any of you who were out and about to take snapshots in any Zavvi stores with your mobiles so we could see where they'd actually put out stock. As a result we saw that a few stores put out displays, a few more put the titles into general horror sections and others didn't bother at all! Had we not had the photographic feedback there would have been no way of knowing what was going on where. Ultimately Zavvi disappeared and didn't want to do more with the Shameless range other than admit in the stores where the range was displayed it sold well and that in most stores they didn't bother trying!

Arrow Video's first three titles (that is with this exploitation branding) come out Monday 29th June and we'd really appreciate if once again should any of you be in an HMV or any other physical shops that might stock Arrow to check out what kind of racking the titles get, a general impression of the stocking levels and a snapshot of the display.

In return, as we did before, we'll send anyone contributing out a free DVD. As before it'll be something pretty random from my desk - could be good - could be downright weird but hey it's free and yours to treasure forever! More importantly you'll be helping out in a period where it's now so hard to sell cult DVDs we're just having conversations wondering if it's even feasible any more. Our belief though, and why Cult Labs is here, is that quite simply with better interaction with your good selves there is a market as long as you're getting something you want to actually own!

So here's what we need:

Store Brand:

Location: (City and street/shopping centre)

Where the titles are displayed:
a) Racked in a 'chart section' in a prominent part of the store
b) Racked (as in face out in a little section of their own) in or by the horror section
c) Inamongst the horror section (as in you'd have to plough through other DVDs to find them)
d) A combination of the above (just list the letters that apply)
e) There's no stock!

Image: (please supply an image - can be on your mobile)

All submissions should be posted on this thread.

If you can help us out with the above four points we'll send you a DVD. We'll limit this to the first 75 complete submissions entered on this thread before Friday 17th July 2009. Almar's decision is final. Please note the range goes on sale from Monday 29th June so unless you see the stock out earlier it won't be in the shops before then and we only want feedback for physical shops - no online retailers please.

And finally... this'll be a big help to us so thank you for anyone who is able to help.

Will do.

There are two HMV stores in Liverpool and the horror section in each one is terrible. Its lucky Shameless cases stick out otherwise they would be hard to spot, also they only stock up to Shameless #16. I have never seen any of the newer releases in store.

It's no accident we chose yellow cases! The Arrow ones will be pristine white so should once again stand out in a dingy old horror section. We are expecting better support for Arrow than Shameless got back in the Zavvi days. Interesting point about the lack of SHAM017 upwards...

I dont think Arrow will have much problem as they always seem to have excellent high street distribution.

The only HMV near me is in Truro. So far they've done Shameless proud with their stocks and I'm pretty confident they'll do the same with Arrow.

The shop isn't huge by any means (it's Cornwall) and the Shameless releases are racked in an A-Z arrangement in the horror section. Impossible to miss them.

The 2 HMVs in Manchester have Shameless releases in the A to Z horror section, same with Fopp. All three have a large portion of the films not for sale.Same goes for the HMV in Rochdale where I work.

I may have to send in a drawing as I don't own a mobile phone!When I'm out I'm out.
