Arrow Video - Day of the Dead Blu-ray - The Build Up So folks on 29th March 2010 Arrow Video will release Day of the Dead on Blu-ray  Anyone familiar with the Dawn packaging will be aware that it comes with four front cover options. Day will be the same so we'd best get cracking on working out what options you good folks fancy having - especially after the success of the gasmask artwork on the Dawn release which was dug up and voted for by CL members. First up now is as good a time as any to show you Rick Melton's brand new painting for Day of the Dead: http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...ftheDead2d.jpg |
 Wow - didn't realise it was due so soon. Cool design too. Always loved the old Entertainment In Video art with all the zombie heads mashed together. |
Excellent artwork. The extras that were featured on the 2-disc Arrow DVD are very good so I hope they'll be put over onto the Blu-ray. |
Expect more plus brand-new exclusives! |
I love Day at least as much as Dawn. It's probably Romero's best film in terms of ambition and craft coming together. The first time I watched it I was around the wee age of 11 (tut tut ;)) and it blew me away - and scared the hell out of me. It's hard to believe that the film was considered a major disappointment by so many when first released. |
I've always found this image pretty bad ass and worthy of being redone for cover-art! :) http://www.deadsource.com/PDVD_1349.jpg Or am I alone on this one? :loco: |
I think the film is a real grower - I was disappointed first time because I wanted more of Dawn but Day is the installment that haunts you - that cavern setting is scary as hell. As for that image - that's great fun! |
Cracking stuff! It's the only installment I don't have on Blu-Ray yet. So,is that the floodgates open for alternate art suggestions Almar?:woot: |
It is very talky with largely unlikeable characters. I think Bub is genuinely the most sympathetic character of the lot! You're right about the setting - instantly effective with that Kubrickian opening shot. |
I love Day of the Dead, it's my favourite american horror, but I don't like that cover. |
