But they allow reptile cruelty, so will really cut it?

I've grown very attached to lizards!

I literally have tens of them in my back garden every day and some get into the house. My wife hates them but I can't kill them and they're buggers to try and catch when they head straight to the ceiling. Even still, I want Deep Red uncut!

I do think sales will be slightly affected. Inferno is a bit of a special case in that it's been one of the most under-exposed Argento movies, release-wise. Uk sales should still be good but, especially with the BD, all Argentophile eyes will be on it to import for those that have crossed over to that format. It may be a small percentage but a percentage still. As for overall effect, the next good uncut UK BD/DVD wipes that out in my eyes. I've been away for nearly 5 years and i'm astounded how far the UK has come. I was going through what i needed to buy before i leave recently and was quite amazed how many really good UK versions were available and sometimes a lot cheaper.

I will confess, I haven't bought Casino Royale though in the US either because i'll be going for the Australian or Dutch version, haha!

It was pre-cut the last time the BBFC saw it (2005) but I'm pretty sure they'd cut it again now.

Which again is infuriating, they allow reptile abuse in Friday the 13th and Bloody Moon, so technically they have no grounds to cut the film do they?

As I mentioned earlier, this double standard needs addressing.

Well, if I have learned anything today it is the very surprising fact that people seem to value extras and general disk filler over the director's vision of a film.

I am genuinely surprised at the nonchalance of some responses to this censorship and the importance put on a load of trailers and documentaries and other fluff about the film you can't see in its full version.

Each to their own, but I am very, very surprised - particularly at the importance put on the extras! I suppose I am just completely out of touch with modern film fans, clearly they are more fans of film peripherals than the films themselves...?

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that other companies will be releasing this film intact in the Blu-Ray format. Sorry Arrow, I love you and what you try to do, but the BBFC have lost you a sale here.

And the huge work done by Calum and his crew has been done in vain. If your reaction towards their efforts is to boycott a film due to a 5 sec cut then you're not much of a fan really are you?

The snake killings in Friday The 13th and Bloody Moon were deemed a quick kill. Hence their passing. The lizard in Profondo Rosso is alive and squirming in agony with a pin embedding it to the ground. This is how the BBFC will view it and classify accordingly.

Incidentally if the cat/mouse scene in Inferno had been taken from stock footage (via a documentary etc) then the BBFC would have had no reason to cut it.

That's.........unusual.I've never seen it before either.I'll probably go with panel 2 or 3,we'll see.

Nonsense.

I am a fan of the film. I want it uncensored. Thus I will buy an uncut version. I appreciate the work done by the flk at Arrow and Shameless but if they cannot provide the product I want to buy why should I buy it?

There's plenty of their product I have bought and will buy - I ordered the Arrow City Of The Living Dead Blu-Ray this morning - but if a release is not what I want I shouldn't feel obliged to buy it just because I am a member here, surely?

I regret that I don't feel I can buy the Arrow release, but I do not feel comfortable buying an uncut version of this film. Which is surely my right?

What Arrow really need to do is get the backing of PETA, like Uwe Boll did with SEED!

and the murder of an animal is murder, regardless of the length of it's demise.

Yes, that was a bit harsh, but the matter has me seething. I am sorry for that term. I realise a lot of work goes into these extras and that a lot of people seem to value them. But to me that's just what they are: "extras". Secondary to the main event, and usually things I will never click onto. I can live without them and I was expressing surprise at the devotion they seem to muster in others.

I didn't mean to demean the hard work that goes into them.
