I think both films will still be cut.

So do I.

The best way for Arrow to edit Profondo Rosso would be to end the scene with the squirming lizard on a freeze frame if possible. Anchor Bay did this with Last House On The Left, when the cut footage (on disc 2) was shown as a series of still images.

The cut in the Platinum DVD (the Italian print only, as the uncut English print was released unauthorised) is horrendously badly made.

Indeed. It'd definitely put me off as I can easily find uncut prints elsewhere.

Inferno, Tenebrae and Deep Red on Blu-ray? I'll be buying these for sure.

I'm still hoping that the BBFC don't tamper with Inferno and Deep Red. If they're cut I may still get them, it won't be a done deal though, I'd have to consider it a bit first. I want to support Arrow, but I can't bear to buy censored product.

If any of the Arrow releases end up cut at any point for any movie I'm thinking about purchasing (on blu, not avail. in the US)....I'll have to pass. As much as I may want to get it, I cannot justify spending my limited moneys on cut films -- especially in 2010. Not trying to be a prick, just the truth.

I doubt anyone here would accuse someone of being a prick for that. It's quite understandable. We're all collectors, and as such we do like to get the best possible versions of the films we want to own,and in these financially tough times, sometimes we can't afford to be be buying multiple versions.

And in financially hard times, the bbfc shouldn't be playing God with people's buisiness prospects. (Namely Arrow's.)

New York Ripper and Venus In Furs were also both cut. Not sure if the record still stands but the former is/was Shameless's biggest seller (?).
