It was official enough to have been listed on Amazon and those who preordered only got the cancellation email a week or so ago

Listing titles for preorder with no firm intention of releasing a given title is another practice that does the UK market no favours.

Arrow are not alone in doing this

I believe Almar has already mentioned that this practice happens. Probabaly the reason I never pre-order discs until official announcements are made. It's not just the UK that does it.

Yes, Almar has already said that companies such as Play and Amazon ask for Arrow's planned schedule so they send in one knowing that those release date will probably never be met. It's a question of getting publicity for the title out there whilst striving your hardest to meet up with people all around the world recording brand-new and exclusive documentaries to make the release is as good as possible.

I, for one, am extremely grateful as, until a few years ago, I was only really interested and knowledgeable about mainstream horror and Shameless/Arrow have opened my eyes to myriad films that I didn't know existed; in fact, they continue to do so with just about every passing release.

I haven't heard anything to the contrary so am 99% sure there will be a Blu-ray release.

My earlier post may have caused a little confusion but I was talking about the release dates for releases like Phenomena and Tenebrae which don't even have a confirmed release date as yet.

Hey Almar I was wondering if you ever found out what caused Inferno's delay?

Unless it's something technical, it's probably Arrow being utterly fastidious in insuring that the version being released is flawless and packed to the rafters with extra features, which is a good thing and, if that is indeed the case, I don't like waiting a bit longer.

BU apparently have a handful of vintage Argento titles lined up for BR release next year. Region locked or not, i'll be having these editions as well as Arrow's own HD variants.
