And the big news? This message came from Dario Argento's production company and was passed to the BBFC by Arrow:

"La lucertola non era morta, ma era un tipo di trucco fatto con un chiodo falso."

"The above translates as: The lizard was not harmed, it was an effect done with a false pin."

Therefore... Deep Red will now be passed fully uncut! Well done to Alex and Fran at Arrow for pursuing this so relentlessly and thank you to everyone on here for trying to work out every possible angle on how to approach this!

I don't know where to start. Great news about being uncut and especially great news that the lizard lived to a grand old age, presumably passing away happily in its sleep with no pin-related incidents. Now everyone's happy.

And that artwork is just... *sigh*
