Agreed... as long as the editions sell there´s no point in having limited ones.

That´s not fair to some consumers, especially if we´re talking about a very limited set.

I agree, but he was just being sarcastic because I was moaning about it being limited. It was foolish of me to do that it seems.

Not foolish at all.

This should be limited, not by units, but by time.

At least this way everyone who´s interested in this 3 disk editio have a chance to buy it.

Say, it´s limited for 3 months...

Aren't Limited Editions a good thing or am I missing something here? It's what makes titles more appealing, sort after and collectable...surely.
I was under the impression that the Limited Edition had different packaging and maybe some extra artcards or something, the content on the discs I don't think will be different. I may be wrong.

If it's just cards, poster etc then I'm not bothered.

Limited editions are good and bad...

Good... because we can get something exclusive.
Bad... because some guys may buy many copies so they can sell it at huge prices. If someone buys many copies then that someone is taking the chance for someone else.

And no.. Limited Editions may not represent just different packaging.
You have many Limited Editions that have exclusives on the disks. Some cases are the american limited edition of the movie "Dust Devil" (5 disks) and the american limited edition of "The Dead Pit" (2 disks). Both normal editions of "Dust Devil" and "The Dead Pit" only have 1 disks each.

I don't see the problem with Limited Editions. It gives real fans of a movie something a little bit extra and, from a label point of view, can help a lot with a quick turnover. Yep, there are the greedy Ebay hoarders and the biggest problem for me is when I just haven't had the funds at the time so missed out.

I'd rather have a genuine Limited Ed than an absurd one that's still available years later and you can end up getting for half the price.

please make this blu-ray region 0, or at least make the 5000 limited run region 0.

this would allow others to get their copy too, but also prevent everyone from importing it to the point of effecting potential local sales in the future. only the die-hards who have been paying attention will get in on the limited run.

i wonder if a limited edition has ever used the region settings as a "special feature" before?

i pre-ordered mine at any rate. will cancel later if necessary.

Can't say I've heard of any before.

Yeah I like limited editions, just as long as I get in there and get one
