Almar did say as long as the release date is november then it will be the limited edition so I think we dont need to worry unless Almar says that they aint the LEs.

As far as I see it the initial run is the the limited edition, so if you've pre-ordered you'll get the limited one.

Will the special editions begin shipping after all the limited editions are sold, or sold at the same time. If its the former then that would set my mind at rest.

The Special Editions are currently die to come out in February so no danger of a mix-up. Hang in there with your order and all should be well. Also I've been advised by Arrow that the extras should play on US BD players - we're seeing queries about that.

I'm guessing the person at customer service had a quick look at their Amazon listing and as there's was no mention of the limited edition, just bounced back the incorrect info to "Grubert".

Don't know how they work it out (probably daily sales Edit: Seems it's updated hourly so that doesn't sound quite as good) but it was 539th yesterday, now 23rd (17th in preorders.) Up 2,243% of sales.
Amazon.co.uk DVD Movers & Shakers: The biggest gainers in Amazon.co.uk sales rank over the past 24 hours.

Seems the announcement of the features (and region free-ness) has done wonders for the sales.
