I tend to have quite a low and cynical opinion of the U.K. DVD and BR industry due to the known rip-off element. It comes from years of being suckered by inferior releases.

It's mostly the major studio stuff and lazy fly-by-night labels that do nothing for me. But there's no doubt, imo Arrow are one of the few British companies whose output is actually well worth the money. Optimum can be good when they want to be and the aforementioned Nucleus Films and Shameless stuff also represent highly buyable U.K. product.

It seems to me the big name labels and cheap 'n' nasty companies seem to be the biggest offenders when it comes to short-changing the consumer. Whereas the brave and bold indie outfits more often than not deliver the goods. Arrow is leading the pack at the mo and will be for the indefinite future i think.

The DVD continues on the original date, right?

Yay! My favourite cover of this made it! It's the twitch of the death nerve one, French I see it here though.

Oh wow, that packaging's simply beautiful.

BAY OF BLOOD strikes me as Bava's best film. I just find it utterly mesmerising from start to finish - the supremely confident late work of a master. Arrow can take all the time they want to get it right. I think this'll be a stunning release. The only other BD I've been as excited about this year was Criterion's THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER.

Geek planet online and Horrorview both have very positive reviews for Bay of Blood.

As posted on Arrow's facebook page this morning:

A Bay of Blood (1971) | Blu-ray Review | Movie Review | Horrorview.com

A Bay of Blood

And I can't get the link to work but if you are on facebook you can "like" Arrow Video.

Where did the colors go on the Arrow release? Really disappointing, based on the review at Dvd Beaver.

I does look a little duller than the others but it's not going to put me off getting it.
