Default The Beyond – How You Discovered It

How did you first find out about The Beyond and how, where, and when did you first watch this zombie classic by Lucio Fulci?

Watched the old Vampix pre cert in the 80's, wanted to see it after I saw Zombie Flesh Eaters and needed to check out other Fulci flick's. Shame the pre cert was cut though.

I have yet to see the movie but I first heard about it while browsing through these very forums and look forward to purchasing the Arrow release.

I already owned House by the Cemetery and Zombi 2, but it was buying the Shameless releases New York Ripper, Manhattan Baby and The Black Cat that made me want to watch a load more Lucio Fulci films films.

I started with The Beyond before moving on to films including Don't Torture a Duckling, Perversion Story and Lizard in a Woman's Skin.

So, it was really a case of a blind buy based on Fulci's previous films!

I guess I'm a younger poster, but I first saw The Beyond when Grindhouse Releasing put it in theaters in '97. It played for a week and I saw it twice. I've been hooked ever since.

Simply bought it because I liked the stuff Grindhouse Releasing had put out. It's very rare that a horror film makes me sit up and take notice like The Beyond did. I fell in love with it instantly. Quite possibly my favourite horror film of all time.

I'd never seen anything like it at the time. That was me hooked on Fulci.

accidentally i guess, was browsing through a load of pre-owned dvds ina second hand shop and found the old Vipco DVD for 2.00, read the back and sounded interesting so picked it up, wasn't fussed on the PQ so after i watched got shot of it. Last year after being on here i decided to re-visit it again so picked up the Korean release and although the PQ was a bit better it wasn't all that, loved the film though especially the shot of Catriona McCall driving the car along the empty bridge and stopping after seeing the blind woman stood dead center in the middle. If Arrow's release in anything like City Of The Living Dead then count me in.
