Arrow's Slaughter High is uncut and much better than the US edition. Much better than it deserves really. Awful film.

How can you say that about a film which includes the line: "We'll take my car... it starts every time"

Truly classic!

I'm pretty sure that every Arrow Video release is uncut, including Slaughter High, which has been given a stellar DVD.

Top of my head, 'Bare Behind Bars' is an edited version

As was one of the Radley Metzger titles, can't remember which.

Oh yes, forgot about that one. It is missing some of the hardcore shots which would have likely made it R18. Strange how that policy affected Bare Behind Bars but not Baise Moi.

It's the usual BBFC double-standards where arthouse and exploitation is involved.

I wish there was a definitive explanation on a webpage where it's stated how one film is different from another and hardcore sex is fine in one film but not in another. Surely a film is a film is a film…

I think there are some guidelines out there somewhere - the BBFC do take into consideration the audience likely to be watching that certain film.
I think censorship would be a lot more harsh if they just applied a rigid set of guidelines to everything they classify.

Here's all the explanation you need and what the BBFC would say if they were truthful....

Arthouse films = Intelligent people, middle & upper class and can handle anything. All other films = Plebs. working, lower class (inferior to the above and must be kept in their place because they're not as intellectually equipped to separate fantasy from reality).
