Default Tenebrae Official announcement

TENEBRAE

Terror Beyond Belief!

A notorious horror classic returns in all its depraved glory. This infamous video nasty updated the classic Giallo blueprint for the gorified 80s, courting controversy and drenching the viewer in crimson arterial spray.

A razor-wielding psycho is stalking the horror writer Peter Neal, in Rome to promote his latest work, Tenebre. But the author isn’t the obsessive killer’s only target, the beautiful women who surround him are doomed as one by one, they fall victim to the murderer’s slashing blade…

Will fiction and reality blur as fear and madness take hold? Watch in terror as by turns the cast fall victim to the sadistic imagination of Dario Argento, Italy’s master of horror.

Bloody Hell! What is it with all this Mono/Stereo audio all of a sudden?

The 5.1 mixes SHOULD be included for those who want them on Blu ... the room is there! Bah! Wondering now what audio the French version has!

I was more than disappointed with the audio on both Phenomena and Deep Red (English) .. and was hoping these Arrow releases would be DEFINITIVE.... to me they aren't!!

The Beyond's 5.1 DTS HD mix was fantastic!

Nice that some of the concert footage of Goblin in Glasgow is there. Really enjoyed that show.

Apart from the original trailer, will there be any other extra material from the 1980s? In particular, will there be any study of its prosecution in the UK as a video nasty, its place on the official list of 39 nasties by the DPP, and its subsequent removal and uncut certification by the BBFC several years ago.

I think it would be very nice to see something setting the background for the UK history of Tenebrae.

That subject may be covered in one of the two commentary tracks, but I'll have to wait and see until I've listened to them before I know. Until then, there is always the Video Nasties: The Definitive Guide DVDs!

Think I will be looking at that version .... I do feel guilty cos I am a big fan of Arrow. But I feel let down with the last 3 Argento releases .... Deep Red 2.0, Phenomena 2.0 and now Tenebrae 1.0! I really cannot understand it as the mixes exist. I know they want to cater for fans of the original audio, so why not fans of the new mixes!?
