The Funhouse – The BBFC Decision
 

I don't think anyone is anticipating The Funhouse will have any problems in Soho Square as it was passed uncut several years ago but, the question is: will it be given a 15 or 18 certificate? If it is given the lower age classification, what does that say about slasher films and the BBFC?

The old Arrow DVD had a "15" cert and was fully uncut, so the only way this could score a higher rating would be because of special features or trailers.:)
Generally my feeling is that the BBFC isn't really bothered by slashers any more as long as they don't linger on the gore too long for their liking or insert a dose of torture or what they would class as "sexual violence".:nod:
I'm still amazed that, for instance, Tobe Hooper's "Toolbox Murders" redux scored a "15", with the ABUK DVD owing its "18" to the (imho great) "American Nightmare" doc.:pop2:

Didn't know that, Toolbox always seemed quite strong in places and i wouldn't have questioned an 18 cert.

That is surprising as, like Demdike said, the film is pretty strong in terms of the violence and extremely dark and bleak tone.

15 for sure.

Certificate PG as 99% of the teenagers these days are wee neds and this will be as disturbing to them as the Teletubbies........:lol:
