Trust trust trust me you are not alone my friend. My partner Kelly is a makeup collector/enthusiast, she has her own blog and youtube account and she's now becoming known as a make-up 'guru' online with over a thousand or so followers and growing. I don't understand why she needs every shade of every colour under the rainbow in eyeshadows and she doesn't get my addiction to DVD's and Blu-rays. We've come to the mutual agreement that we've very sad but very happy collector addicts..... full stop I guess it's easier to get along if we both just accept it for who we are

Yeah, we had a trip to Ikea this week for new bedroom furniture, I was busy looking at new cabinets for my DVDs while she was picking wardrobes and stuff, never got my cabinet

Truly a man after my own heart and it's most reassuring for me to read such a response.

First review i have seen. Pieces - Lynda Day George

They are critical of its picture quality, but i really can't see much difference, if any, in the comparison shots.

Same here. To me, the Arrow disc looks exactly as good as the Grindhouse disc - and I never heard anybody complain about the latter's quality. And that's what we wanted - a decent UK release of this gem in a white case. If there had been a suitable HD master, I am quite sure that Arrow would have released a Blu-ray.
Let's face the facts - Pieces will never be a stunner in terms of PQ, but after all these crappy UK releases (Film 2000, anyone?), I'm looking forward to this release. No, I'm really excited, just thinking of it!

Greetings!

Well said PV and i'm in total agreement with you.

True, there's no indication of Pieces hitting the HD format anytime soon but i'm more than happy to indulge in Arrow's generously rendered DVD. A far superior release to what we've had before on British shelves and definitely better than nothing at all.

I already have the excellent Grindhouse double disc set of Pieces, I don't think I'll be buying the Arrow release for now.I agree about the PQ on the Arrow DVD, I can't see much, if any, of a difference between the two releases.

i'll be buying it for the extras more than anything, I do wish these comparison sites would stop using screen captures, their totally unreliable when comparing picture quality.
