Thing is although they know the company is currently in trouble, they also know they have the only DVD store now Zavvi/virgin Megastore/MVC and so on are dead so use that as an excuse to be greedy.

Admittedly I did pay £18 for New york Ripper Fan edition today,This was simply because I had looked forward to it for tonights viewing so much for days.

Kentucky Fried Movie was at the more sensible price of £12.99

That's alright since I'm assuming the online prices are about a tenner. I'd pay £12.99 for that instore.

I always go into HMV when I know new Shameless or Arrow releases have come out but it's usually just to see what the box and art look like 'in person' if you like (even though I've seen it online). Must admit, the other week I was really tempted by New York Ripper, even at £20, because I really wanted to watch it in HD for the first time. Thankfully I was reserved and left it, and ended up winning a copy on this here Cult Labs forum

Which makes me wonder, along with my original point about the titles they do & don't bother with from a distributer, how they can justify selling the same item in different branches for prices ranging from £12.99-£20 & not have them all equal.

It sure is,but surely they are meant to be a fixed price for all stores.

the most disgusting 1 I have seen yet is £22 DVD & that was Beyond Re-animator,which I certainly will not be getting from the store.

I hate HMV, went in there the other week with intention of buying SALON KITTY and WITCHFINDER GENERAL and they didn't have either of them. They did have a shit load of Jeremy Clarkson blu's though!

True, Reaps......I am a person who will reserve the cash in the bank for certain movies i REALLY want to buy, (Slaughter High and Savage Streets for instance), but to make me buy a film, I prefer to hold the item in my hand, peruse the artwork, write up, etc....before i decide to buy it (my Fantastic Factory box was 40 quid, and i only knew 2 of the films inside, holding the product made me want to pay over the odds for it). I dont wanna order a film via places like Amazon and have to wait nearly a week for it to come (and in one case when i ordered Silent Night, Deadly Night, 3 weeks to arrive and find out its second hand, without the booklet).

His Muggers Voice really need to look into their stocking and pricing system for the sake of their business. The only dvd's worth buying in there are the Arrow ones, and i have all the ones they have stocked.
