But then I'd argue that I am replacing my R1 DVD with superior presentation and extras - it's on Blu-ray in high definition. Whilst I feel for you, what's the point of another DVD that will have the same quality as the existing DVD? Hardly a step up or an upgrade, but an HD presentation is definitely an upgrade.

I know you don't want to rush into Blu-ray, Peter - but an awful lot of desirable titles are passing you by in HD and by the time you go Blu, many of them will be OOP and only available for exorbitant prices. I can't help feeling that you're missing out, but I certainly don't think any less of you for sticking with DVD, it's still a great format, just not as good as BD.

Damn, see, I just had to have one last dig, I couldn't help myself...

I don't think many of the desirable cult titles will be OOP by the time Peter goes Blu, I think they'll be subject to re-release after re-release (probably with better extras) like their DVD counterparts were.

I am upset by the fact it wont be on dvd, too.....i dont have a tv, so cant get Blu Ray, only use a portable dvd, which cant be hacked for multi region, so anything on Blu i miss out on. Bang goes owning a full set of Arrow releases!

No problem, Daemonia!

You give good reason for your pov and don't look down on DVD enthusiasts- which isn't exactly something to be taken for granted when I'm looking at some DVD/Blu debates on various other sites in the www, particularly regarding big studio barebones DVD releases of newer titles with extras loaden counterparts on Blu- but that's another issue alltogether.

Came across this poster today for Maniac Cop - possibly from an old magazine or something. It's got nothing to do with this Arrow release, but I thought I'd share it anywho.

I've heard that the contents of the actual movie may be altered on Arrow's release, as Lustig has wanted to do some CG tweaks with some things. Is this actually the case with Arrow disc?

I've read a few reviews of the Synapse BD and no-one's mentioned any alterations. I wouldn't think the Arrow disc will be any different.

It's definitely not on the Synapse release.
