Erm so who's fault was it as Arrow released it ????

Took me less than a minute to look up the aspect ration on imdb - the buyer at arrow couldn't do the same ?

That's not how it works. Arrow paid for the rights for the film and the only master they could get was the Storaro aspect ratio one. Short of pulling it from release and losing money there was nothing they could do. This was all documented when the aspect ratio came to light on here.

It's crazy that they don't get to see any materials until after the rights have been purchased but that's the way it is.

Arrow bought the righs to release, and were then given the basterdized ratio version. So they were forced to either waste money buying it, or release what they were given.

Edit: What he said above.

In that respect I pity them, and gave them my money. TBH, I wasn't arsed about aspect ratios at the time (not overly so now) but it really was a shame on there part, it's one of there best releses besides that.

When it came to light I managed I get one of the last few BU versions as it was going out of print. I bought the Arrow version later on for the extras mainly.

I missed all the fun!

Still, glad they're finally sorting the exchange programme, else mine would be going on sail.

So how come a tiny company like Mondo Vision is able to reject several masters for one film before settling on one that's good enough?

Ah, but Arrow did that too with Demons. Rember how long it took for them to locate a master they were happy with?

Some twonk on fb has said the missing six seconds improves the pacing! I'm assuming it's sarcasm but either way that's priceless!
