Arrow have catered for all tastes, whether it's old or new artwork. I don't know many dvd companies who supply four ( or even two ) alternative artwork panels. This ensures you are not stuck with a cover you don't like. Pick which one you prefer. Problem solved |

To be honest, I didn't 'get' the concept that the picture you printed here was for 'Zombie Flesheaters' because there was nothing in it to suggest that the girl was a zombie

Of course this often results in a debilitating boot to my nabs but it does explain why I'm always getting fired! Anyway,I can take the critism. I'm not that hot in bed either but that doesn't stop me repeatedly dissapointing my wife! I appreciate that this forum isn't here for some poncey artist to keep popping on displaying his wares so if it gets annoying let me know and I'll get back on the streets. If not then brace yourselves for even more of my tacky etchings! Thanks for your time, Rick |

I don't think anyone is questioning your skill as an artist, Rick. The major complaint seems to be that the paintings you do don't really fit what the film is about. For instance, A Bay of Blood is a seminal Italian slasher movie that inspired the likes of Friday the 13th. So why the giant squid? Why not something that tells potentially new customers that it's a slasher/giallo movie instead of some giant octopus movie? The picture is very unrepresentative of what the movie is about. I think that's simply what people have a problem with, not the actual quality of the work.

I went through the DVD and there was plenty of scenes I could freeze and copy but all my digital peers can do that better than me so I just went and made something up. I thought it was 'iconic', everybody else thought it was crap! I must admit that when I revisited the canvas the next day I thought "XXXX, that squid looks big!" but this is oils, I can't just hit the 'redo' button so I let it slide. That frikken' squid's been biting me in the arse ever since! |

I liked the artwork for Bay Of Blood and was a little mystified by the negative response. The film has never had good artwork and there is no "one iconic image" attached to it. Indeed, the cover that British lovers of old and original artwork should most be familiar with has octopus tentacles on it also! And there is a an octopus in a memorable scene of the film. So I didn't get the fuss. It's a good sleeve design. |

Bay of Blood is my favourite of Rick's artwork - I too can't understand why people hated it so much, I reckon it looks classy, cool and above all Italian!
