3 new ArrowDrome Action titles for November!

Arrow have announced three new ArrowDrome Action titles for release in November 2012! Enjoy...

Code Name: Wild Geese (ArrowDrome DVD)

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ESE_3D_DVD.jpg

Lewis Collins (Who Dares Wins / The Professional) is back in another Macaroni Combat classic from Italian B-movie legend Antonio Margheriti (Cannibal Apocalypse / Commando Leopard), where a team of seasoned mercenaries attempt to cut off the western supply of Heroin by destroying Opium factories in the infamous Golden Triangle.

Now, deep in the Thai jungle, Collins and his deadly band of hired guns hook up with a troop of rebel fighters and steal a helicopter so they can launch a deadly attack on the labs producing the drugs they seek to keep off the streets.

Code Name: Wild Geese is a Euro-action classic with a cast including Lee Van Cleef, Ernest Borgnine and Klaus Kinski. It’s another low-budget high-action spectacular saved from 80s video shop hell by ArrowDrome.

ARROWDROME IS A FLEAPIT SELECTED LIBRARY OF CULT FILMS; VIOLENT, HORRIFIC, SLEAZY, EXPLOITATIVE. TO EXPLORE STEP IN TO THE CULT ARENA! EVERY ARROWDROME RELEASE INCLUDES A REVERSIBLE SLEEVE OF ORIGINAL ARTWORK AND A COLLECTOR’S BOOKLET!

ALSO INCLUDES TRAILERS OF ANTONIO MARGHERITI AND LEWIS COLLINS’ WAR TRILOGY + COLLECTOR’S BOOKLET BY JAMES BLACKFORD!

19/11/12

RRP £12.99

Commando Leopard (ArrowDrome DVD)

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ARD_3D_DVD.jpg

Directed by the highly regarded Italian shlockmaster Antonio Margheriti (Cannibal Apocalypse / The Last Hunter) and starring Lewis Collins (Who Dares Wins) and renowned cinema mad man Klaus Kinski (Nosferatu), Commado Leopard is a classic Italo-action movie where South American rebels must fight to free their country from the brutal oppression of a fascist dictatorship.

After spectacularly taking out a dam, the rebels become public enemy No.1 for El Presidente, relentlessly pursued through the jungle by Colonel Silvera – played by Kinski at his swivel-eyed best – in an 80s low action classic that gives you exactly what you want, big guns, big explosions and glorious, beautiful, mindless destruction.

Now, find out why the Italian’s ruled the 80s video store in this rental classic from the golden era of Euro-action trash...

ALSO INCLUDES MAKING OF FEATURETTE + COLLECTOR’S BOOKLET BY WRITER HOWARD HUGHES!

RRP £12.99

The Commander (ArrowDrome DVD)

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...DER_3D_DVD.jpg

The third in a triptych of Italian jungle combat adventures that includes Commando Leopard and Code Name: Wild Geese from Euro-trash movie kingpin Antonio Margheriti - The Commander features Lewis Collins (Who Dares Wins) doing what he does best, leading a group of fearless mercenaries into the green hell of a South Asian jungle in order to protect a data disc full of secrets.

On hand to lend a touch of class to proceedings are Lee Van Cleef and Donald Pleasence in an 80s Spaghetti War classic where loud explosions and heavy duty combat combine with secret agent double crossing and murderous corruption.

Can Collins discover who is out to screw him and his hired band of killers as they struggle to survive in this twisting, turning video store staple, reclaimed by ArrowDrome for a new generation of B-movie lovers?

ARROWDROME IS A FLEAPIT SELECTED LIBRARY OF CULT FILMS; VIOLENT, HORRIFIC, SLEAZY, EXPLOITATIVE. TO EXPLORE STEP IN TO THE CULT ARENA! EVERY ARROWDROME RELEASE INCLUDES A REVERSIBLE SLEEVE OF ORIGINAL ARTWORK AND A COLLECTOR’S BOOKLET!

Very nice. And should please some people who were hoping Codename: Wild Geese and The Commander would be released on their own. Judging by the images at the bottom of the covers, i'm predicting these are what we'll see on the reverse...

Is Commander Leopard available as an extra on one of the forthcoming Wild Geese/Who Dares Wins blurays like The Commander is?

I don't know, but I don't think it is. This seems to be the first time we're hearing of this getting a release.

fuzzymctiger 13th September 2012 11:08 AM

So will the Code Name and The Commander in the new Wild Geese and Who Dares Wins sets just be ports of these disks?

Also might get Commando Leonard if it isn't in a set.

These just popped up out of no where!!

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people on here were really after this getting a release too. I'm sure at least one person said something like "The Commander? What about Commando Leopard" or something

Probably Pete.

As I already have WDW and TWG on pre-order, I may skipp the Arrowdrome editon's of CN:WG and DC. CL is a must buy though, and knowing me i'll probably come back for the other two soon!

Demdike@Cult Labs 13th September 2012 02:28 PM

They will look nice on the shelf together. :)

Pete 13th September 2012 02:57 PM

COMMANDO LEOPARD is the worst of the three.

I assume the 'making of' is the on set footage which features interviews with Lewis Collins and Klaus Kinski and a funny clip of Klaus taking one of his temper tantrums.

Leonard is legendary round these parts now, it seems! Go Lenny!

Is CODE NAME WILD GEESE cut?

Glad to know these 3 are going to be released. Good job ARROW!

However will CODE NAME: WILD GEESE be cut like the German Ascot Elite dvd?

That is something every potential buyer should be aware of!

It's never been cut here. No reason to think it will be now. The only cut one is The Commander

Dammit!! I've seen that name so much now (is it someone signature?), that I accidentally wrote it!

No BBFC cuts but the German transfer (which was released on dvd by the films producer) has been the source for all other DVD releases (and is shown regularly on Movies For Men) and it's likely Arrow have used the same one.

dream demon 14th September 2012 12:01 PM

Great news, but I'm also hoping for a box set - a no-brainer?

Not according to dvdcompare. The Swiss dvd is uncut.

Pete 14th September 2012 09:25 PM

I had the Swiss disc and it's not. The old UK tape is longer.

Oh well, just going by what dvdcompare said.

Playzocker 26th October 2012 09:59 AM

"The Commander" and "Codename: Wild Geese" are the same films/transfers they used for the Blu-rays, right?

That means that "Commando Leopard" is a new release and that the film hasn't been released elsewhere in the AV library? Is that correct because if so, the completionist in me has to get the AD DVD for that one. ;)

I just checked. The German DVD runs 83:54 Minutes and the Arrow Video transfer is 83:53 Minutes ... so yeah, it's very likely they used the same cut version of the film. A shame!

The Swiss DVD is supposed to run 97:04 Minutes, according to my sources.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 19th December 2012 04:48 PM

Anyone ever find out what's on the reverse of these, and are they still cut?

Pete 19th December 2012 04:51 PM

COMMANDO LEOPARD is uncut but the other two aren't.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 19th December 2012 09:10 PM

Cheers Pete.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 19th December 2012 09:10 PM
