Manu – a part time porn star - and Nadine – a hooker – set out to leave their town for Paris after witnessing and being subject to rape and violence. They rage against societal expectations in a fury of robbery, orgiastic lust and murder.


One of the most controversial movies of the last 20 years, Baise-moi was described as the most sexually explicit film to ever reach British screens by the UK press, the film offers the complacent viewer a cinematic slap in the face.

Well, I do. If I buy it, it'll only be if it's uncut.

I doubt very, very much it will be the full uncut version. If Arrow submit the full version, the BBFC will still cut it. A rape scene that includes hardcore penetration shots? The BBFC don't like sexual violence at the best of times, but mix that in with some hardcore footage and there's no way it'll get past the censors at Soho Square. Personally, I don't think Arrow will resubmit it, they'll just re-use the already passed edit IMO (which will also save them BBFC fees, saving themselves £600-odd).

Yes, it would be nice to think the BBFC are all grown up and stuff - but you know how the British are about sex (especially the BBFC). It's perceived as either dirty or offensive. Britain really needs to mature and grow up a bit. ;)

I don´t understand why the BBFC even bother to still cut movies, especially in this day and age when anyone can easily buy an uncut import version or watch it online.
And it´s also comical how afraid they are of hardcore porn, when it´s just a mouse click away ;)

Hardcore pornography is only available legally from licensed sex shops. You can't buy it anywhere else and you can't buy it by mail order.

There is a special classification for hardcore porn in the UK - R18

They do allow hardcore in non R18 rated films - even the old DVD of BAISE-MOI contains all but 12 seconds of it. It's rare but they do.

Some R18s (legally available HC) are stilll trimmed, tis like living in the sweetie pocket of Mary Whitehouse this country sometimes.....:mmph:

They cut massive chunks out many R18 titles but really what's the point?

Practically everyone has got the internet and access to the billions of completely uncensored porn sties which cater to every depraved fetish imaginable. And they're free!

You can - plenty of legitimate UK stores sell R18 hardcore films by mail order via their websites.

The BBFC would be failing in their legal obligations under the VRA and other legislation if they were to choose not to cut illegal or harmful material simply because the same scenes start turning up on the net.

According to Stephen, Arrow have done further cuts on top of the BBFC cuts, according to the BBFC website

That was Score, but I've been told by someone that all they've cut is what the BBFC have told them to.

Ok sorry. I guess this is probably going to stay the same at around 12s of cuts I think.

The specs and final artwork were just announced on the Facebook page.

Can't be fecked putting them here, but let's just say that the Artwork is bloody awful!!
