Default Arrow Video/Play.com exclusive BATTLE ROYALE steelbook

The milking of the cult collectors cash cow continues (5 "C"s, wow!) with Play.com releasing YET ANOTHER exclusive limited edition steelbook, this time it's Arrow Video's very own Battle Royale, released for about the 10th time.

Hi Def Ninja have reported that

"Play.com Exclusive, Release date of November 26th, 2012.

Steelbook will have a PREMIUM finish and will also be embossed / debossed.
Limited to 4,000 copies.

Listing should be live shortly.

3 disc special edition!"

and these seem to be the pics

I'm not one to let the cat out of the bad, but considering it's due out in 7-8 weeks, and Arrow aren't even hinting at any upcoming releases, I don't really feel like i'm pissing on their parade.

Thoughts? Is it yet another release to encourage collectors to dip in AGAIN for the same film?

Is this the Arrow film that's had the most releases now then? I suspect it is. It does have a lot of crossover appeal I guess.

Personally I'm not going to buy something a second time for the packaging as its the film that's of the most importance to me and I already own the original limited bluray. Does look like a nice set though.

Good idea to use the spoiler tags, but it didn't work ha ha.
You know I think that by this time next year Play.com will have released steelbooks of every film in existence!

Oh bugger. I literally just ordered Arrow's 3 Disc Edition last week (and it arrived today lol). I would have preferred a Steelbook (my last DVD of BR was a Steelbook), but it's too late now .

Anchor Bay with Halloween and Evil Dead, VCI with Dark Night Of The Scarecrow... and now Arrow with Battle Royale.

Still, no part I in 3D, and no part II.

I like it. I own the big limited edition dvd that arrow released. And have been thinking about getting the same set in blu ray but saw no point, so glad this has been released.

Well, it´s blu-ray, so I can´t see why you didn´t see any point in upgrading.

Sure, now you have the image upgrade and a beautiful steelbook.
