I was just wondering, what's the position on releasing DVDs of movies that are already out in the UK? For example, Venus In Furs is already released through Redemption, yet Shameless is releasing it in December. Is there a difference between the quality of the prints?

Yeah I'm hoping people aren't going to get too confused but there are a few films called Venus in Furs. Redemption have the Jess Franco one - we have the Dallamano version so a completely different film awaits you!

I think the New York Ripper and Phantom of Death covers were both spot on! Pure pulp style but with a clean, well designed feel to it. Totally refreshing... I think the proposed covers are just as good and really make the films look far more appealing.

Frankly, anything is better than the white "Impact" text of the Vipco Scream Time and Dead of Night collections. I'm really excited about seeing your catalog develop.

Welcome to the boards Razorhead!

I still can't believe VIPCO have managed to survive this long.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yeah, it's a shame really... they put out some quality films - particularly in the Italian zombie department. It's just so annoying that not only did they neglect to put any cover art on any of their DVD releases, but the text that they used instead was hideous and cheap looking anyway... and not even in an ironic way.

It's almost a relief that they've stopped now... let someone with abit of a style and pulp sensibility put some films out. I supposed that's where Shameless come in.

On an unrelated note, my local HMV (which is about the size of a large airing cupboard) stocked both the New York Ripper and Phantom of Death... I say "stocked"; they had a copy of each - both of which I snapped up - but that's pretty impressive considering their poor track record for stocking even the most mainstream of horror films.

Have to say although Vipco released some good titles, their DVDs were rubbish.

They released good titles but they showed no love for them really.

Horrid transfers and cut to bits, it's a pleasure to see films that have been put out by other companies with some TLC, after seeing VIPCO titles for so long they seem twice as impressive!

Watching the Shriek Show DVDs of Zombie Flesh Eaters and the sequel are a revelation!
