The 1974 Black Christmas was a hugely important film for horror cinema, with its bleak forboding atmosphere, unseen assassin, grisly kills and knockout of an ending it set a high standard for other slasher films to follow. I first saw the original on Christmas Eve 2000 and it made a huge impact on me after waiting years before then to finally see it.
