Terror

A very young Jack Nicholson stars in this Roger Corman cheapy in which a young soldier in the Napoleonic wars chases a mystery women into an old, and of course creepy, castle occupied by a frail Baron, played by Boris Karloff.

The Baron is a deeply troubled man as a twisted old witch is trying to drive him to suicide and the strange girl that Nicholson followed is in on the plot...With Nicholson trapped in the eerie castle, all he can do is try and work out what's happening in this effective suspense thriller which has some neat gothic touches.

Fans of Corman's Poe films (Fall of the House of Usher, the Pit and the Pendulum. etc) will enjoy this lightweight thriller, which treads in similar territory.
