Then I would favour Place.
Machine is one of the most unusual SF 'novels' you will read.

Bought a "very good" condition secondhand book for my wife. A hardback with both the Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs novels by Thomas Harris. Hopefully she will enjoy reading it. It cost just 40p from an Amazon 3rd party seller with 1.26 pounds postage. Having been a Royal Mail employee for over a decade, I'm struggling to understand how the seller will make any profit at all, since I'm fairly certain that a 2 volume hardback will cost considerably more than 1.26 postage! Still, their loss is my gain. btw My wife said that it was kind of sad that books can be so cheap nowadays. She said that no-one reads anymore.

It’s usually £2.80 postage for 3rd party book sellers. I’ve also got that book I can’t remember how much it cost me but not much on top of postage. It’s a nice book.

That sounds much more realistic! I think the seller (actually a shop) must be barking mad.

I’ve got it too, but in paperback, I paid about £2 for it about 12 years ago
