I love David Eddings work.

Lapped up the entire Belgariad then realised he just re-wrote it in abridged format and released it as The Redemption of Althalus.

I've never read that one!
I keep meaning to go back and read the two original series, but I have a rose tinted view of them and I don't think I should read them in case they're not very good

Give it a go. That way you'll know if you still like his work.

That’s a bit like my English teacher at school telling my parents that I shouldn’t be reading the Exorcist at 12 and should be reading Famous Five like the rest of the class

I noticed in the Sunday paper this book had a good review.

Saw it in Asda today for a fiver.

Lovely hardback with a cut out cover (The A in Dracul). Couldn't resist.

I will do, I've just bought the new Stephen King so I'll read it after that one, although the King only has 120 pages!! so wont take long.

I've bought slimmer books for more money in the past As long as the story is good I don't mind, the RRP was £14.99 so if you went to Waterstones you'd be paying that

My main grumble is that King releases a short story compilation every other year, but this time it's just one story for almost the same price as one of his 600 page doorstops.
