Although it's been overtaken in recent years by works by Hearn, Rigby and Kinsey it's the very first book on Hammer films (1973) and for a long time seen as THE Bible on the subject. It was the first publication to come out and say Shadow of the Cat was a Hammer film.

It's a seminal work and one no Hammer fan should be without.

I bought mine new from a library suppliers in Preston years ago and got them to bind it in plastic for me. If you can make it out below.
That's the re-issue cover, from the 2000 Creation Cinema release

The original cover (from the 70's) was

but regardless of the cover, as Mr. Dike says: it's an essential purchase for fans of Hammer films

The new issue of Classic Rock has a feature on the birth of British Glam Rock.

Not that you'll need to read it having bought that book.

Been out of print for a while so it cost me more than a new book about films, but look at those chapters, I can't wait to read this one

Mostly B&W pics but it has a portion in the middle, around 10-12 full colour pages including original theatrical posters.

Bought these novels from a charity shop, little dog eared and yellow but can't complain for 50p each.

Looking up on it, lots of books and seems very popular so I'm surprised no one has bothered to turn it into a movie franchise.

It would work better as a tv series I think, each book being a 2 episode arc.

It didn't last very long as a tv series at all. Just a 12 episode series. It was better than that suggests and deserved more.

Just finished it and really enjoyed sadly seems another series that didn't get the chance it deserved - but from what I read the books are a little different than the show.
