Why would anyone want to preorder something like that. It will be in mass circulation

If someone has a busy or hectic life, then they would pre-order something so they wouldn't have to worry about physically buying it on day of release - they can forget about it, get on with their life and have a nice surprise when it is delivered

Sounds too hectic to read a Martin doorstop then. ;)

Reading the apendicies about the house histories was bad enough but I can't see myself reading an 800 page version, at this point I don't even want to read the last 2 books in the series proper.

Same, I gave up midway through A Feast for Crows because I was bored of it. People go on about Stephen King blabbering on unnecessarily, but George R R Martin is so much worse!

I've read all 5 and I did enjoy them, but the wait has been too long and too many deadlines have been missed!

One of the reasons why I gave up is because I’d just binge watched all the show, so all the plots were still fresh in my mind meaning it wasn’t gripping me as much as the earlier books

I read them all between season 1 and 2 which highlights how long we’ve waited for book 6 haha

If you are a fan of The Walking Dead books, this looks like it's a good deal

Humble have a new comics bundle where you can get the complete run of The Walking Dead digital comics (over 30 volumes) for £14.50

One of the current 'Humble Bundles' is a collection of Attack on Titan manga and spin-off books. If you don't have any, it's an absolute bargain at just under £15 to get the first 22 volumes and loads of guides and artbooks, and also an audiobook and light novel.
