1st May 1978 - The May Day bank holiday, and ITV gave the entire night over to a screening of the classic western 'Once Upon A Time In The West'

What is interesting about this, is the fact that this was the first time the full version of the film had been seen publicly in the UK. The print shown on ITV this evening was both uncut and also 21 minutes longer than the version that has been released to the cinemas in 1969!

I remember watching it at the time and thinking it was pretty violent for a kids programme - I loved it
I’ve often thought about getting the series on dvd and seeing it again after all these years.

It was violent. There's no way it would pass as kids tv today. Not a chance in hell.

You should get it Mojo. It's usually in Network sales for around a fiver. As i say i loved it as a new viewer when i saw it a few years ago.

Here's my little write up from 2018.

What TV Have You Seen?
