These two cover giallo, the first one is a very general overview of popular Italian cinema and the second one is fairly academic.

Howard Hughes is a fine writer on Italian Cinema - his Spaghetti Westerns book is a very good alternative to FAB's definitive sw book, Any Gun Can Play. He wrote a very good primer on Hollywood Westerns as well...

Cheers guys! I'll have a look for a couple of those (I've already read La Dolce Morte)

Very much enjoying John Coldstream's biography of Dirk Bogarde, one of my favourite actors. A fascinating life and some incredible films along the way, The Servant, Darling, Accident, The Damned, Death In Venice, Night Porter, Providence and Despair...

I have both those.

Essential for Harryhausen lovers.

Although you would expect them to be simillar, The Art of is mainly art whereas An Animated Life looks at his films showcasing the stop motion work as well as posters, concept art etc.
