Yep it was supposed to be the softback but they sent the hard back edition,so I'm happy with that...

I had the softback and mine did fall apart, so now i've got a nice hard one.

Same The Hardback is the recently re-printed version (I say recently but that could mean any time in the last decade haha). Had the Paperback version from the time it first came out.
Funny enough I've been looking at it for the last few days, which is weird as I hadn't seen these posts until today ha
