I thought Angels and Demons was fantastic, although The Da Vinci Code droned on a lot in the middle third.

I think i'll pick it up next week.

I too prefer Angels & Demons, but I read that after I’d read The Da Vinci Code (which I ended up reading in one go during my first night in Jimmy’s hospital starting my cancer treatment 13 years ago).
I was actually given the large format illustrated edition of Angels & Demons by a friend after her mother died, she knew I was a fan and gave me her mother’s copy while she kept The Da Vinci Code edition for herself, it’s a great edition showing all the things Brown describes in the text, among others

A Faith No More/Mr Bungle "companion" by Greg Prato. TBH Fantomas should be in there as they do get a mention cough (it goes up to the 2009 reunion but not as far as Sol Invictus). Decent enough book, with a few minor niggles. Are metal journalists all as close minded as this guy? "weird" music indeed. He does stand up for King For A Day at least. Next!!

The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero.
Appallingly fascinating read. Sestero seems to revel in his enabler role. We shall see. No, it will NOT make me want to revisit The Room. Because it is shitey. You listening Nos?? SHITEY

Been reading star wars infinities, which are the original trilogy were something different happens so the story plays out differently.

Finished new hope in this the death star doesn't explode at the end , Luke fires torpedoes but they malfunction and the empire destroy the rebels and this is where the story continues with a very different outcome.

On the whole I enjoyed it but can see fanboys crying into there cereal, there insulting Lucas vision , he/she wouldn't do that.

Just started Empire and the diffence here is Luke dies on Hoth as Hans tauntaun dies before getting to Luke. Just like hope be interesting to see how it all pans out differently.

I read China Mieville's novella The Tain last night. A mere 90 pages but a superb read about a post apocalyptic London following a war between humans and entities trapped inside mirrors, vampires basically. The idea that mirrors aren't just reflectors of light beams but house other dimensional beings is explored fully. The Tain is proof that you don't have to write something the size of a doorstop to create good sci-fi.

The book is a limited edition signed publication from 2002 and virtually impossible to get hold of nowadays...except for silly money.
