| This Is Memorial Device by David Keenan. A potted 'history' of Airdrie's 'underground'  focusing on the titular band. I've always found Keenan to be a bit precious, but the book is alright so far ...

Finished my recent read today. A report from the bunker. download (42).jpeg A volume based upon interviews and talks that took place between Burroughs and artists of the time. (Warhol,Ginsberg,and various hangers on.) Insightful and revealing. I found Burroughs to be a much more outgoing figure than i originally imagined. Insular in his train of thought and view of the world, yet accepting and ponderous, regimented and controlled yet fluid and humorously satirical. Really enjoyed this. i've just started Nothing but the Night by John Blackburn, an author i never got around to sampling back in the seventies (i'm having a seventies pulp fiction binge at the moment). only a few chapters in but its a very pacy read and really enjoying it. reading it on my Kindle from the good people at Valancourt Books Horror & Science Fiction - Valancourt Books i'm surprised it's taken me so long to check these Valancourt guys out - they specialise in re-printing long oop books. judging by their reading list i think they might keep my Kindle occupied for quite awhile. |

While sorting a cupboard out I come across this , so that my reading sorted for a few days , each story is only short and 2 pages long based on building , places that are supposedly haunted .

continuing my 70s binge i've just started The Godsend by Bernard Taylor. i've never seen the movie version, and i've never read any other books by him, so it will be all new to me.
