I don't think it's going to be as vast as "Beyond Terror", more a guide to Franco's films.

Nevertheless if Thrower's got his pen dipped in ink then I'm there

Finished this the other day and managed to find my copy of the excellent sequel Legion, so I'm on with that, as well as 2 books on Film Music for a college project and the marvellous Hammer Story that I found in my local library, highly recommended by the way.

Cool

PUBLIC ENEMIES by Bryan Burrough, a really good read about the gangsters who roamed America in the 30s, a nice feel for the subject and historically accurate as far as it can be, forget the anti-hero movies, this feels much more accurate.

Finished Alan Jone's uber insightful Profondo Argento, which has really made me want to rewatch and watch the ones I've missed Argento's films.

Squeezed in Michel Houellebecq's fantastic essay on Lovecraft: Against the World, Against Life, again I feel spurred on to reread and read the ones I haven't got round to from HPL.

And my new bedside reading is volume one of JG Ballard's complete short stories. I've read some before, but it was a while ago and it's high time I got round to some good ol' fiction.

"Anyone know when Thrower's book on Franco is coming out?"
Last I heard it was supposed to be published via FAB Press sometime next year, can't wait for this one!

Phil, I love that title Against the World, Against Life...

The Ballard shorts are fantastic, I read both Volumes last year - just incredible. In fact I was reading Ballard's 1964 novel, The Drought last week - no one writes sci-fi like Ballard, every page is full of dazzling invention... Phil have you seen the 2000 film adaptation of The Atrocity Exibition ? Well worth seeking out and as dense and impenetrable as the novel... I've heard the 2002 Swedish film Low-Flying Aircraft is good as well...
