Funny you should mention those Kyle. I just picked out this from the book shelf to reread.

They are all the same size as the Target Doctor Who paperbacks and feature Chris Achilleos art work like the Who novels.

I used to have them all i think plus Play Misty for Me and i think The Beguiled. I used to read them at junior school.

Finally finished Stephen Kings Pet Sematary. Damn King is a frustrating writer.
He can write incredible atomsphere, brilliantly deep believable characters and terrify or break your heart in the blink of an eye. So why the hell does he have to be so bloody long winded. Parts of this book just pulled me along 100 pages at a time. Then you get a chapter that is so incredibly dull and meaningless that i end up putting the damn thing down and not touching it for months.
Still i think its probably the best of his novels I've read.
For personal reasons i won't go into, parts of it were incredibly difficult to get through for me.

Just finished reading it again, I read it at least once a year, and despite knowing both the book and film like the back of my hand, it still grips me and only ever takes me a couple of sittings to finish.

Incidently, I found out the other day that Blatty added some extra stuff to the latest version, so it might be time to retire my 25 year old copy (bought for 95p in 1991) and get the new one

This was the first SK book I read, around the same time as I first read the Exorcist mentioned above, and like the film (Pet Sematary that is), it still scares the shit outta me!

Books I've read this year so far have been;

The Sandman Overture - Neil Gaiman
The Wicked + The Divine vol 2. Fandemonium - Kieron Gillen
Bazaar of Bad Dreams - Stephen King
Just Kids - Patti Smith
Stand and Deliver: An Autobiography - Adam Ant
The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien
The Wicked + The Divine vol 3. Commercial Suicide - Kieron Gillen
Yes Please - Amy Poehler

Not really read a dud at all, but I felt the last few stories in Bazaar of Bad Dreams were weak but the majority of them were great fun! Blockade Billy was particularly good!

It was interesting to be honest, but he's not the greatest writer I'm not going to lie.

I'll have to add it to my 'to-read' list I think. Thank you Justin!

I guess his song lyrics were never really literally gold either

I'm not reading it, and I probably won't be getting it, but don't you just love the title of this?

Transvestite Vampire Biker Nuns From Outer Space: Mark Kirwan-Hayhoe: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store
