One last post about Art Sex Music.
Adulation is a broken mirror at best. We project our own fears and insecurities back reaffirming our own 'self worth' at best and at all odds with logic at worst. Such is the nature of worship.
From taking their second album off a schoolfriend (he thought he had bought something by DOA, the Canuck punk band etc ) to missing out on the Camber Sands reunion due to 'poor sales' , it's been quite a lonely travail (aww western problems). Purely because they just seemed so 'other' in the early 80s, surrounded as I was by U2 fans ahem. Quite combatative by nature anyway, I became quite entrenched by the position I was forced to assume.
To go with the herd was anathema, but choosing a smaller flock is merely the same with the added proviso of 'superiority' (ie snobbery) so that's nae help, as you intentionally put yourself in stasis as security measure.
Nothing Short Of Total War was their slogan after all.
The tunes still work.
NEXT.

Completed Skeleton Crew, quite a few strong short stories; the mist is fantastic as is The Raft and Gramma.
Now kicking off Hunter S Thompson's The Proud Highway
